The Battle of Myloi
25 June 1825 (13 June 1825 old style) Proven
Ibrahim Pasha's army attacked the fortified mills in the late afternoon, in three columns along the Argos road, over the hill and from the Kiveri side. A few hundred Greeks under Dimitrios Ypsilantis, Makriyannis and Konstantinos Mavromichalis, helped by gunfire from ships offshore, beat back every assault. By nightfall the Egyptians withdrew towards Argos: Ibrahim's first defeat in the Peloponnese.
Note: The number of defenders differs by source: about 200 (Howe), 227 (Jourdain), 250 in official reports and perhaps 480 in later accounts.
