New railcars for the Peloponnese are landed at the pier
1947 Probable
In 1947, with the bridge over the Corinth Canal still destroyed, new railcars for the Peloponnese lines were landed at the pier of Myloi directly from a Navy landing craft. A photograph shows one railcar rolling off the landing craft no. 820 while another waits in its hold, watched by a crowd and men in uniform.
Note: The year 1947 comes from the Ephorate folder; the type of railcar in the archive caption ('Uerdingen') should be checked against the date.
