First stone of the ice factory Amymone
April 1907 (April 1907 old style) Proven
In early April 1907 the first stone of the first ice factory of Myloi was laid behind Barber Ali's watermill. The founders were the cousins Ioannis Vasilopoulos, a distiller in Tripoli, and Konstantinos G. Vasilopoulos, then a law student; they named it Amymone, after the nymph of the spring.
Note: The newspaper Άργος (1907) calls the founders brothers; the eyewitness Tsakopoulos (1957) calls them first cousins.
