Makriyannis was wounded in the fighting but kept leading his men without letting them see it. The Greeks lost only a handful of men, among them a philhellene, while more than a hundred of Ibrahim's soldiers were killed or wounded. Makriyannis was afterwards treated on board the French flagship.
