King George II leaves Greece from Athens, not from Myloi
23 April 1941 Proven
On 23 April 1941 King George II, members of his government and the British Minister flew by Sunderland flying boat from Skaramangas near Athens to Souda Bay on Crete. A later reader's letter claimed that the king left from Myloi, but the official sources do not support this. The member of the royal family who did leave from Myloi, three days later, was his cousin Prince Peter.
