The village councillor welcomes King Otto and Queen Amalia
March 1858 Proven
King Otto and Queen Amalia came by steamer from Nafplio to Myloi, where all the villagers met them with local music. The special councillor (ειδικός πάρεδρος) of Myloi, "Mr Loukas", had strewn the streets with myrtle and put up an arch with inscriptions. The royal couple then visited the state ironworks in Myloi.
Note: "Mr Loukas" is almost certainly Loukas Giannakopoulos, named as councillor of Myloi in 1864.
