It’s all in the name

“The FIVE F” derives its name from a clever saying which has been extensively used in traditional restaurants of the 1960s ” Fíle Fére Fílous Fáe Fýge ” which means: “ Friend, bring friends, dine and leave“. This proverb has become a delightful tradition for the owners, and they take pleasure in sharing its origins with their clients.

At “The FIVE F”, a diverse selection of fried or grilled fish and seafood awaits patrons. The menu boasts an extensive range of salads featuring imaginative combinations, alongside delectable homemade treats crafted with freshness in mind. Driven by their profound passion for the sea and gastronomy, the owners of the establishment have succeeded in curating an extensive menu comprising a wide array of dishes that they consistently update and refine. Placing utmost importance on the use of fresh fish, they meticulously select their ingredients.

A family affair

“The 5F” fish tavern holds a significant history as it was originally established in 1965 in Myloi by Dimitris Maragos, the protagonist’s grandfather. For an extended period, it functioned as a family-run enterprise managed by both their grandparents. In recent times, however, the responsibility of overseeing the tavern has transitioned to the younger members of the family. Presently, Andreas Maragos, the current proprietor, fondly reminisces about his childhood experiences within the tavern, back when Myloi consisted of only a handful of scattered residences. As time passed, Myloi transformed into a cherished place they called home.Together with his wife Marina and their associates, Andreas runs this establishment based on what he learned from his parents and the love they passed down for fresh fish and the sea.

Marina’s shrimp pasta and Andreas’s marinated anchovies, have garnered a reputation for their irresistible flavors. The precise combination of ingredients used in the tantalizing marinade remains a closely guarded secret, even to the owners themselves, adding an element of intrigue to the dining experience.

Situated along the Myloi coastline, The five F boasts picturesque views of Nafplio and the sea. This serene and inviting fish tavern offers a tranquil ambiance, ideal for unwinding and savoring the moment. With its thoughtfully crafted interior and a sheltered outdoor area, guests can indulge in a delightful dining experience throughout the year.

At their establishment, a diverse selection of ouzo and tsipouro sourced from various regions of Greece awaits patrons. Additionally, an array of wines, with a particular emphasis on supporting local producers in the renowned wine-producing region, is available. The beverage lists are regularly refreshed with the introduction of new labels, ensuring a dynamic and exciting experience.
